Google officially reveals Android 3.0 Honeycomb logo

Earlier this week, the new honeybee logo was revealed by Phandroid through looking within the Android 3.0 Honeycomb’s SDK itself but now its been officially revealed. Named alphabetically after a tasty treat, from Cupcake and Donut to Eclair, Froyo and Gingerbread. The new glowing cybernetic bee sports blue stripes, an ethereal glow and a definite sting.

As you may be able to recall, Android 3.0 Honeycomb will be the first version of Android with features specifically designed for tablets, with new 3D effects and viewing options that take advantage of tablets’ larger screen.

News: Sony unveils Playstation NGP, PSP 2 – boasts WiFi and 3G

NGP? You read that right – the Sony “Next generation portable” is supposedly what the new successor to the PSP will be codenamed. Announced today, and due to be released by the end of 2011, it feels as though Sony is trying to move on from the PSP label into another level.

The latest NGP will sport a unique Super Oval Design form factor, what’s more, it’ll be first portable entertainment system to feature two analog sticks, which will hopefully enable a wider range of game genres.
The new PSP NGP will boast both 3G and WiFi connectivity, a five-inch multi-touch OLED display and runs on an ARM Cortex-A9 core CPU. The new portable playstation system also incorporates a unique multi-touch pad on the rear, and together with the front touch display, NGP offers new game play allowing users to interact directly with games in three dimension-like motion, through “touch, grab, trace, push and pull” moves of the fingers.
NGP adopts a new game medium, a small flash memory based card, dedicated for NGP software titles. Taking advantage of the flash memory feature, this innovative card can store the full software titles plus add-on game content or the game save data directly on to the card. By adopting flash memory based card, SCE will be able to provide game cards with higher capacity in the future, allowing developers to store more game data to deliver rich and immersive games.
NGP will also come equipped with two cameras on its front and rear, as well as three motion sensors, gyroscope, accelerometer and electronic compass – the same as the Playstation Move, all of which are designed to enable users to enjoy the world of entertainment that is linked with real life experiences.

Samsung 10.1-inch Sliding PC 7 Series tablet announced

Samsung has introduced it’s latest Sliding PC 7 Series, which is a tablet that can slide out a 80/81 key keyboard for much better typing experience.

The Samsung Sliding PC 7 Series is powered by an Intel Atom Z670 processor with 2GB of RAM. The tablet is equipped with a 10.1-inch display with 1366×768 pixels resolution, ambient light sensor, touch capabilities and Windows 7 with a custom Samsung app launcher.

Measuring at less than 2cm think and weighing under 1kg, the Samsung Sliding PC 7 Series relies on an SSD drive for storage (32GB or 64GB), hence Windows boot in just 15 seconds or wake up from hibernation in 3 seconds. Other features include an HDMI port, WiFi, optional 3G/WiMAX connectivity and more.

Sony Ericsson announces latest Xperia arc Android 2.3 smartphone

Sony Ericsson have today announced their first new entry of 2011 into their Xperia phone lineup. The Xperia arc will be an elegantly designed, candybar shaped smartphone with a thin body, slimmest part measuring just 8.7 mm. It boasts an extra wide 4.2″ multitouch ‘reality display’, with Mobile BRAVIA® Engine for ultimate multimedia experience.

On board is also Sony’s award winning Exmor R™ camera technology for much improved photo and HD video capture quality even in low lighting.

World’s smallest 64GB solid state drive

SanDisk today announced the first product in a new category of embedded solid state drives (SSD), that are the world’s smallest solid state drives so far.

The SSD is smaller than a postage stamp and offer higher capacities and performance than existing storage solutions. The SanDisk® integrated SSD (iSSD), the first high-capacity product within this new category, is designed for use in fast-growing mobile computing platforms such as tablet PCs and ultra-thin notebooks. It is the first flash SSD device to support the industry standard SATA interface in a small BGA (Ball Grid Array) package that can be soldered onto any motherboard, and for use with advanced operating systems in mobile computing platforms.

Samsung’s new improved 4G LTE Galaxy tablet

Samsung has announced the new 4G LTE-supporting Galaxy tablet, competing with the newly released Motorola Xoom, with Verizon’s high-speed connected lineup. Samsung has launched a Wi-Fi-only version of the tablet that should hit the US market soon.

The new 4G Galaxy Tab features a faster processor and a new 5MP camera. The tablet also has a new textured surface to help improve grip. However, these features have not been improved for the Wi-Fi only Galaxy tab.

Hammacher TV remote wrist watch

The latest Hammacher wrist watch may not be a mobile watch but it is a mouth watering geeky TV remote control wrist watch, another reason to keep our arse on the couch and not even have to bother picking up the remote.

Now often these watches may have plenty of functions and features but can look hideous, this one from Hammacher on the other hand has a retro touch to it, not too far off from some of Diesel’s watch collection in my view. There are six buttons on the watch’s bezel command essential functions (volume, power, channel up/down, play/rewind/fast forward) of televisions.
